The virtual reconstruction forum "Revived History of the Volga Region" was held at the Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov organized by the ANO "Cultural code" with grant support from the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.

As part of the forum's educational program, local historian, head of the Vladimir Lenin House Museum and member of the Civic Chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan Mark Shishkin delivered a lecture titled "Submerged Kazan: What the City Lost and Gained from the Creation of the Greater Volga."

The lecture focused on the changes to Kazan's landscape resulting from the construction of the Kuybyshev Reservoir in 1956–1957. Mark Shishkin explained how this development put an end to the city's annual floods and enabled the development of new territories. He also shared historical facts about lost locations that remain in the memory of city residents as an important part of their cultural heritage.
